Poland Gdynia and Taiwan Exchange: "Taiwanese Picasso" Su I-Jung Leads a New Chapter in Art and Technology Cooperation

Recently, a unique Taiwan-Poland exchange event took place at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park (Pomorski Park Naukowo-Technologiczny) in Gdynia, Poland. The focus of this event was not merely cold machinery and data, but rather a cross-disciplinary dialogue combining artistic aesthetics with cutting-edge technology, led by the internationally renowned artist Su I-Jung, widely hailed as the "Taiwanese Picasso."

Since July 20th, acting as a representative of Taiwan's cultural and innovative spirit, Su I-Jung has been visiting the Pomeranian Voivodeship with a 30-member delegation. He was joined by Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che, TAIPO (Taiwan-Poland Chamber of Commerce) Chairman Chao Chung-Chieh, and representatives from numerous Taiwanese tech companies in the semiconductor, robotics, and drone sectors. In this transnational gathering, Su not only acted as a promoter of cultural diplomacy but also emerged as the core figure bridging technology and the humanities.

Art Empowering Technology: Facilitating the AI and Robotics MoU Under Su I-Jung's witness and promotion, the Pomerania Development Agency and TAIPO officially signed the "Taiwan-Poland AI Robotics Alliance MoU." During the meeting, Su shared his vision for future technology: "The ultimate goal of technology should return to the warmth of humanity and the beauty of art. Whether it's drones or humanoid robots, injecting Taiwan's rich cultural heritage and artistic creativity will allow them to demonstrate unique value in the European market." His remarks deeply moved the Polish officials present, including Leszek Bonna, Vice Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, and Gdynia Deputy Mayors Tomasz Augustyniak and Rafał Geremek.

Su I-Jung's European Vision: Three Major Goals to Promote Taiwan-Poland Exchange During this trip to Poland, Su not only showcased his artistic influence but also actively spoke for Taiwan's industries. Meeting with the Gdynia city government and local enterprises, he proposed three core objectives for this visit:

1. Deepening Cross-Disciplinary Industry Cooperation: Combining Tainan's hard power in Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and smart tech with Taiwan's soft power in art, seeking innovative cooperation opportunities with the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
2. Pioneering the European Market through Cultural Diplomacy: Using the resonance of art to help tech companies from Tainan and Taiwan break cultural barriers, making Poland a crucial hub for entering the European market.
3. Marketing Tainan's Charm: Coinciding with Tainan's 400th anniversary, Su hopes to leverage his international reputation to promote not only Tainan's high-quality agricultural products but also its city brand and historical stories on the European stage.

An Artistic Dialogue from Century-Old Gdynia to Four-Century-Old Tainan Gdynia is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, while Tainan is Taiwan's oldest city (celebrating its 400th anniversary). When visiting the Port of Gdynia and local high-tech enterprises (such as VR company Flint Systems and automation company TMA Automation), Su emotionally stated, "Although Tainan and Poland are geographically far apart, through the exchange of art and the advancement of technology, we can closely connect the souls of both cities. I hope to let more Polish friends see the beauty of Taiwan and let Taiwan's innovative tech blossom in Europe."

This trip to Poland, with "Taiwanese Picasso" Su I-Jung as the protagonist and driving force, not only successfully garnered the favor of Polish enterprises for Taiwan's high-tech capabilities (such as drones, VR, and electronic systems) but also proved that the "combination of art and technology" is Taiwan's strongest weapon for stepping into the world and building deep international friendships. In the future, both sides are expected to launch more accelerator programs and substantive collaborations through this cultural and technological bridge built by Su I-Jung.
